Remote Access of Linux box with XP
HI guys,
I am new to linux...
I have 2 CPU one with Windows XP and other is RED HAT 9
my problem is I have only one moniter,keyboard and mouse
I need to connect both CPU in suc a way that I can use both CPU with one moniter,keyboard
Config as follows
CPU-1
Windows XP
P4-1.8 GHz
512 RDram
200 GB HD
RTL8139c (1st)
RTL8139c (2nd)
CPU - 2
RED HAT 9
P1-200 MMX
64 SDram
8 GB HD
Intel Lancard (10MB)
Both connected with direct Crossover CAT-5 cable
what programm I need to install in windows XP so that I can VNC RedHat box from booting process ( login prompt)

You would need to get a KVM switch, this will allow you to use 1 monitor, keyboard and mouse with multiple computers. Just search on google for more information about the KVM switches.

This one is recommendable and works fine with no problems (the belkin ones have some trouble with linux)

linux box and XP box connected with crossover CAT5
I am using sshd on linux
and putty.exe on windows
and its working fine

If you also care for a "fast" X forwarding have a look at NX
you can get the Client for free from www.nomachine.org
the server can either be bought by nomachine
or you use FreeNX (which works fine)
you can either only forward some applications or you can even forward an entire desktop
over a network and still have it with almost no delays
