RedHat 9 and Freeserve.

Having probs. Am attempting to learn about linux but can't get online and use all the available learning resources - catch 22! Have finally got my Intel V92 HAM Winmodem responding, and using the internet connection wizard attempted to connect to freeserve. It just keeps dialling and redialing. Using the non-wizard setup, does anyone happen to know what settings I need to use to get online using freeserve anytime? Do I need to specify IP addresses manually? What else do I need to know?

A google search turns up a few old 'How To' documents saying that I need to do some kind of scripting. Given the flashy internet connection wizard and the fact that it lists Freeserve as an available ISP, is this still necessary?

Rang their tech support people (50p per minute) and it took a good minute or so to explain to the nice lady what LINUX actually was. So discounting them, not sure how to get this info!
