I have installed Redhat 7.1, and learned the new iptables so that i can have a router to share my rogers connection. I've setup this same config numerous times, with various distributions.
This time i have a problem with the smtp damon. Sendmail starts, and works, however, i can not login on port 25, the smtpd port, or should be anyway. I can not figure out if it is because sendmail is not starting its damon, or if the iptables/firewall is disallowing the connection.
I have flushed all the iptables rules, and only added the one nessisary for ipmasq to work (routing).

anyone have an idea what is wrong?

how do you logon??

New sendmail uses SMPT_AUTH for authentication. If u want to set sendmail for relaying from non-local machine, then you must set sasl user/pass for authentication.

Logon?? root when i'm doing admin stuff, like playing with who gets to relay mail, which i know how to do, and works fine. the SMTPD server isn't running i think, or port 25 is getting blocked, but i can't tell which... I think it is getting blocked, because the sendmail config file (sendmail.cw) has the right flags set for startup of the smtpd server.
