Red Hat 9.0 Network config..

Well, first i gotta say im new to this.. im tryin to learn linux and i wanna get online with it... so when i try t insmod or modprobe it tells me:
init_module:no such device
Hint: insmod errors can be caused by incorrect module parameters, including invalid IO or IRQ parameters..
You may find more information in syslog or the output from dmesg.

Another thing im using VMware 4.0

please give more info. perhaps the card is there and you need to configure nameserver info.

do this and send the output from each please

(# at beginning of line means command prompt)

#ifconfig

#lsmod

#route -n

is your network dhcp or static ip address?

does the network start on boot? or fail with errors?

can you ping the card by it's ip address. should get the ip adress from output of ifconfig.

will do all i can but sort of missing info right now to be able to help you
