red hat 8


I am using a linksys router on my network and can see my samba server on my windows machine but not in my router's dhcp client table why is this and can i fix it???

Is your samba server using dhcp to the get an address from the dhcp server on the linksys router and if so why on earth would you want to use dynamic IP allocation for a server that's just plain crazy if you really insist on using dhcp perhaps you could post the details (like what you have already tried to do) so that someone may be able to tell you how to obtain a dhcp lease and have it happen every time you boot
