Question Red Hat 7.1 DCHP Question

Hi all! I ( am trying to ) use Red Hat 7.1 as a internet gateway router. After much sweat, blood & smashed keyboards, I am able to connect to my @Home service on eth0 as a dhcp client. Yes, I know @Home usually sticks with one ip address so it's easier to use a static ip setup - but where's the challenge in that??

Now my task is to set up eth1 as a dhcp server. as I want to use a notebook that is configured for dhcp. I have installed the dhcp rpm, but my computers on my home LAN do not seem to receive a dhcp offer.

My eth1 is recognized, and uses the 192.168.1.1 ip I gave it. How do I go about setting this up?

Thumbs up RedHat 7.1 DHCP Server

Success! Followed the Red Hat As A Gateway Router HOW-TO, and it works great. I can even use my VPN to connect to my work LAN. Very transparent operation. Love it!

Can you provide the lnk to that document?
I am curious to know if I can make my linux box a gateway router with only one NIC card, and a hub.

that's not the way to do it.

you can get another nic for $15 or less

then you will have a router.

Cool Gateway HOW-TO

Sorry about the late reply.. I found the HOW-TO at www.coastnet.com/~pramsey/linux/

It does deal with two NIC's, however.
