RealVNC startup errors w/ Fedora 2, GUI does not appear

I am using RealVNC and to remote into my F2 machine from XP. I can remote in just fine, but the window that pops up is just a grey "rootweave" with just a terminal screen. Why is this happening? Why am I not getting the GUI instead? Is an X app. failing to run?

I get these messages in the log file when VNC starts . . . .

"error opening security policy file /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xserver/SecurityPolicy"

"Could not init font path element /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/CID/, removing from list!"

I am not that familiar with X Windows so please try and keep it simple with the explanations thank you : )
