RDP - Linux to Windows

I have one linux machine on my network with about 7 windows machines. I am kind of new to linux so bare with me. I was wondering if the remote desktop connection in suse pro 9.1 will allow me to remote desktop to my windows xp or windows 2000 server machine. Is this possible since they both use the same protocol?

It's just a frontend to vncviewer and maybe rdesktop(for RDP used in Windows 2k/xp)
If it doesnt work you can find rdesktop here:
