Rdesktop refresh issues over PPTP
Hello,
I am having a weird refresh issue when using rdesktop to connect to Windows machines over a PPTP VPN. The issue is mainly with text and scrolling. If I were to open an email, for example, and scroll up and down, the refresh gets hosed and I will get like the same line repeating over and over, vs a whole paragraph. It's kind of hard to explain, but maybe someone has seen this before. If I minimize the window I am viewing the email in (or whatever text document) then maximize again it will refresh and look fine. I am not quite sure if this is an rdesktop issue or a pptp-linux issue. I am running Ubuntu 6.10 and here are is my pptp config: willk@penguin1:/etc/ppp$ cat options.pptp lock noauth nodeflate nobsdcomp willk@penguin1:/etc/ppp/peers$ cat test_pptp pty "pptp x.x.x.x --nolaunchpppd" name username #mtu 1490 #mru 1490 remotename pptpd #require-mschap #require-mschap-v2 #require-mppe-128 file /etc/ppp/options.pptp ipparam test_pptp persist I have tried this with those commented lines uncommented as well with no luck. I also have a friend with the same version of Ubuntu connecting to the same VPN having this issue as well. Let me know if any more info is needed. Thanks! |
Are you using a high resolution to connect to RDC? Maybe force 16 bit or something lower and see if that helps.
I run rdesktop over PPTP VPNs before and everything has been fine. I can just see resolution being a problem as that's alot of traffic to transfer. |
