Raid Level 5 HELP!! Please...
 

Hello All,
I am very new to linux, please bear with me...
I am familiar with Most Windows OS's.

A company contacted me and is running Linux on a Raid Level 5 Server, one of the drives has been failing for a month and the IT guy never new it, the system lost power and shut down, now the program that was being used is not accessible because of the lost data.
If I remember correctly, a Raid level 5 system is supposed to use the other 2 drives as a backup? What do I need to do to restore the data onto another working drive?
Please, any help would be appreciated.

raid 5 uses a number of drives, with an additional one for resilience. the minimum is three, but many more can be used. if one of three drives has failed, the system will continue to function. if more than one fails, data is lost and the file system can not be easily recovered, if at all. The point is you don't get this far in the first place. but you really need to provide a LOT more information about what's actually going on.. what kind of raid is even being used? hardware or software? i would expect that IF this can be recovered then it would most lieky be tricky to do, and if you have little to no linux experience, i doubt you'll be able to recover a crashed raid array.

In fact it was a Snap Server with 4 drives, drive 1 failed a month ago, drive 2 recently failed when the electric went out and broke the raid, I am getting the raw data off of drives 1 - 3 - and 4, even tho drive 1 failed, I am able to retrieve the data from it, so they will have atleast something to use.
