Question about DNS settings

Hi everyone.

I am running Opensuse 11.4, with 4 network cards in my machine.

It seems like DNS settings in linux is global to all 4 network cards.

In windows DNS settings seem to be specific to each network card.

Why is this?

I think Linux allows you to specify different DNS servers per network connection:

The question is of course whether it is desired to have different name servers dependent on network connection. And it could very well be that Windows allows you to specify name servers per connection because the dialog window happens to let you do this?
