Question
I'm curious, how exactly does mailsnarf, msgsnarf, etc work? I tried mailsnarf -i eth1 and this is all it says, "mailsnarf: listening on eth0". However nothing ever happens, I've tried sending emails to myself on my gmail account but it doesn't pickup anything. I also tried using another computer on the network to send an email to my account but it still didn't pick anything up. I have ettercap running with ARP Poisoning.
Thanks. |
this is linuxquestions.org, a website for asking questions. as such callign a thread "question" is hardly the best approach. please use more informative thread titles in future.
sounds like you have a switched network and are sniffing on a seperate lan segment. you will only see that data if you are replicating ports, or using a hub to connect machines, not a switch. |
