qpopper crashes system on big emails
Bizarro problem here....
running a Suse Linux 9.0 distribution with postfix doing my smtp and qpopper 4.0.5 doing my pop3
Everything has run great for a good 5 months and all of the sudden whenever one of my users gets an email over about 1MB in size, the entire Linux box locks up when their email client tries to grab it using Pop3 protocol/qpopper.
I mean freezes the darn thing cold.... nothing in the logs, no warnings, etc.
It happens for each user that tries to retrieve a large file (I've done exhaustive tests), and with both OE and Outlook clients.
Any ideas???? By the way, hardware looks fine... Memtest came back flawless, and I've tried a different motherboard/processor.
Also by the way, I've cleaned out the user boxes and even cleaned out the hidden *.pop files that qpopper creates.... still doing the same thing, so I know it wasn't one particular corrupted email crashing things.
Please help!!!!!
Cheers,
mj
