PVM Cluster Programming

I have set up a network of 4 computers using PVM cluster. Now I am trying to write a program to use the capabilities of this cluster. Intially i just need to try out some exmaples and i tried using the programs in the example folder given ..... i wasnt able to understand the programs as they seem to be too complicated .... I also want to know if i could use programs written in matlab and running paralelly using PVM.

Is using aimk the only way to compile the c programs as i keep getting errors when i try to do that using gcc ....

Please help and suggest
