Proxy setting without changing the connections
 
In my network a DSL modem used. Now it is directly connected to the switch. Without changing the connections how can I set a proxy. Please give a reply

Here's a reply. Please give more info i.e. What distro are you using? Are you using KDE, Gnome or some other desktop environment?

Yes the KDE is used

dude, dont be so pushy.

also, you need to tell us what Distro you are using (ie, Debian, Fedora, etc)

if you have a proxy server already set up then its simply a matter of setting your client machines to point to that as the default gateway

-OR-

depending on your distro, use something like Squid, which can be both a simple redirecting proxy or a caching proxy...

If you want to know where you can put your proxy settings, do this: Alt & F2 type kcontrol click run now go to Internet & Network--> Proxy.

The distro using is Freebsd.
I set the squid in the freebsd but the direct access is also possible. How I block the direct access of internet.
