Proxy server for RH 8.0

I have a small network of computers ( soon to be 3) and i want to run my own proxy server off one of them. I have a dual boot linux machine with win98se on there and then i have my computer which is windows ME. I was wondering if it would be better to run the proxy off the linux box, or the windows box. The linux box is my server http / ftp but i do not use it to access the web. Any suggestions would be of great help. Thank you in advance.

i'd recommend putting it in the linux box. linux manages it well and you have most control of how the proxy service would work (compared to the windows proxy that you might use).

no doubt the linux box is the way to go but you have to get the linux on its own machine. for it to work right obviously. besides dual booting is really not a goot idea anyway
