Proxy Client, Nat or other internet setup

I am currently running a proxy server on my windows 2000 computer because all my computers have winmodems.

The proxy server works fine with all my windows computers and with applications that allow me to enter proxy info into them on linux.

The problem is that I cannot use services like CVS or telnet because I don't know how to tell my linux (Red Hat 7.2) computer to redirect request to the HTTP or SOCKS server. Is this possible?

Other things that people have suggusted were to setup NAT translation, but I am not sure how to go about doing this. I would need to have my Linux computer connect to the Windows 2000 computer (Windows 2000 is on the internet). All the tutorials I have seen have been for the reverse.

Any ideas?

Thanks for your help,
Aaron (aaron@citanul.com)

I figured it out

Sry, Linux is the client.

I just setup winproxy 4 on my windows 2000 computer and now I can share my internet connection completely.

Thanks,
Aaron

going nowhere fast

unless you're using a proxy for a specific reason, i'd suggest using a software router instead, like winroute (inspired name huh?)

and having a winmodem doesn't mean you can't use it under linux. check linmodems.org for details of support.

Winproxy does Nat

Winproxy does NAT translation in addition to classic proxy, it has been working very well. I response to the winmodem, thanks I just haven't had the time to set it up.

Thanks for you ideas,
Aaron
