proxy and nat


hi,
can i use a proxy server on same nat router,or proxy server is on different server inside the lan and this is connected to nat router?

how to protect better my private lan when connect to internet?
i seen that there are solutions using only router nat that connects my lan with outside,or only proxy servers but there must be an router between my lan an outside.
can i use on same nat router the proxy?

Is this LAN your home LAN and are you hosting a web server on it which is accessible from the Internet? That would be the only reason to use a proxy server.

is a lan that must be protected with best practice connected to internet.

That still doesn't tell me what you are trying to do. Best practice is completely dependent on what you are trying to protect. Need more information.
