Proxy
Hi,
How would i setup my linux box at work to connect to the internet through a proxy server?

Your question is quite vague...do you have a computer connected to the internet and you wish to use a public proxy server to surf the web... if so, then you would just need to enter the vaues in your web browser:
i.e. if you use netscape...then click on edit then preferences then click Advanced till you see proxies. Click proxies and select manual proxy config and click view
enter the values of the proxer server (ip address and port)
Type Address Port
HTTP 194.168.0.1 80
FTP 194.169.0.1 21
where 194.168.0.1 will be the ip address of the gateway machine(the computer that is connected to the internet)
If your computer is on the LAN the above still applies

Depending on your distro.. there should be a 'lynx.cfg' file somewhere that you can edit. All the settings for Lynx are in this file. There is a proxy section that you can uncomment and edit the lines of to get it to work.
