protocol selective malfunction?

I have a router connected to my network. This router is connected to a cabelnetwork into the INTERNET.

On this network I have several computers in 2 locations. The locations are connected by wireless bridges. Mixed OS some win some Suse 9.0

The network protocol (internal) is lantastic for win. For the internet TCIP. Suse uses TCIP

Machine 1 on location A is transported to location B. There it is connected to the network. No problems, it is starting without troubles for some weeks..... then suddenly the TCIP connection (internet) does not function any more. Can’t ping the router. The lantastic network however is working fine as ever. I can see servers, printers and use them.

I reinstalled all protocol's, nothing. Reinstalled the adapter ... no reply.

On this machine is a dual boot ( Suse 9.0 and win98se). In 98 se I can use lantastic, but the TCIP part does not function. In Suse, the eth0 is detected, it is connected to work with dhcp, I get a green message at start, but no connection. The only thing I get is the message in the browser, that it can’t find whatever I choose. Ping doesn’t work either. The problem is clearly no OS can find the DHCPserver(router), and so no one gets an IP address.
There are 4 more machines (on location B) in the the network some lantastic some tcip, they all work fine and all can connect to the internet.

On location A there are a some linux machines, all suse 9.0, they all can communicate, use print-servers, share resources. There are 4 printer-servers also working without any problem (TCIP). No problem in accessing Location A from B or B from A (at least in lantastic we do not use TCIP for traffic from location A to B with the exception of the internet connection). The internet connection comes in on location A and all machines on location B can do internet with the exception of machine1.

As one protocol works fine, I can safely assume, that the cabling and hardware of the network is OK.
I don’t suspect the realtek NIC, I never heard something about protocol selective malfunctions.

On the other hand, as Suse and Win98 both don’t work, there should be a common factor and then a hardware related error is the most nearby answer.

Did any of you had a same experience, or does someone have a hint for me, how to solve the problem?

Thanks in advance.
