Hi I'm having problem with via Rhine ethernet onboard card.
It seems functioning until I'm trying to conect to web, when I try ping or traceroute to out gateway(which I set up during instalation) it shows somethin about 3 sec to localhot an no to gateway and no response from outside.
When I tried to install Debian again during installation(after seting an networking option) it shows(randomly to middle of the screen)
"eth0:setting half duplex..."
and about 3-5 secs later "eth0:setting full duplex ..." and trying to connect to net aways fails.
I tried also Knoppix, it finds eth0.but trying to ifconfig it and to connect alwazs show SCIO...problem,
Can anybody help?

Also when I tried to ping on this computer, it goes until I try to connect to net from this computer.

some other data - we are not using DHCP, IP address is public,gateway has also public address, subnet mask 255.255.255.224

I can tell you that it works with red hat fedora, so if you find out how there, you are golden. Mine worked out of the box.
