Problems with the named.conf-file configuration

Hello everybody,
I have been experiencing lots of problems for the past two days with named.conf file. I haven't been able to solve the problem and i am hoping someone can help me with this. The problem for me is in the logging files. I want more details recorded when an error occurs so i can examine it in more detail but all atempts have failed.

I have enabled the logging(query_logging) in the named.conf file but the file is neither created nor does it contain any information. I changed the path name as well (from the default path name.../var/log/named_querlylog to my own...(/home/named/named_querylog) but this didn't help. I have also made some attempts with the channel syslog_queries but that failed as well.
My question is.....how the hell does one enable more detailed logging through the named.conf file. Everything i tried so far doesn't work. Thanks for any help on this issue.

What details from named do you want to log? All of your errors and critical stops are going to show up in the syslog.

I want to log all the details!! As much as possible because i have to go through the error detection in great detail so i need as much information as possible. The problem is that i am not getting any loggings whatsoever which makes it that much more difficult to search for errors.

http://publibn.boulder.ibm.com/doc_l...IKEXXX_LOGGING

That contains a detailed analysis of the named.conf file.

Let me know if that helps.
