problems with squid

alrighty i have my squid server up and running. its been working great for 3 days now, not a single problem. Until this morning when the head of our recruiting department tried to log onto monster.com. www.monster.com works fine, but hiring.monster.com will not work. I know the problem is on our end because i setup a computer to bypass the proxy and it worked fine. Monster says that they pass a lot of variables and that all cookies and variables need to be allowed to pass in order for hiring.monster.com to work.

ive tried using:
acl monster dstdomain .monster.com

ive tried
acl allowed_domain url_regex -i http://hiring.monster.com
http_access allow allowed_domain

could anyone help me figure this out? this is the only web site that we've encountered a problem with. is there a way to configure squid to automatically pass certain urls without even trying to cache the info?

what browser are you using?? does the problem occur with different browsers??

i ask because i remember a problem with hotmail where if you were using squid and you accessed hotmail with internet explorer it wouldn't work, but if you used firefox/mozilla it would work fine...

the work-around was an ACL that would check if the site was being accessed with an internet explorer (v6) browser... it was something like:
Code:
acl hotmail_domains dstdomain .hotmail.msn.com
acl ie6 browser MSIE[[:space:]]6
header_access Accept-Encoding deny ie6 hotmail_domains

what's the symptom like?? does the page not load at all or does it give you trouble when you try to log-in?? i believe the problem with hotmail was at login time, like, it would just hang there after you clicked submit and nothing would happen... i think, i don't remember too well...

BTW, for whatever it's worth, i just noticed that when you login to hiring.monster.com it connects to nexus.tmp.com - i assume to do the authentication... might be something to consider...

no luck,

right now im trying

acl monster_domains url_regex -i monster.com
acl monster_domains url_regex -i hiring.monster.com
acl monster_domains url_regex -i nexus.tmp.com
header_access Accept-Encoding allow monster_domains
http_access allow monster_domains

I also tried the coding you gave me before and i didnt have any luck with that either. Is there a way to configure squid to just pass all traffic through for a certain ip. monster's tech guys gave me their range of IP addresses.
