problems with network manager

i can't connect the internet with my network-manager. the network-manager recognizes all my wired and my wireless networks, but it doesn't connect them.
when i try to connect network with the shell after stoping the network-manager, i succeed to connect the network.
Code:
sudo/etc/init.d/network-manager stop

sudo ifconfing eth0 up

sudo dhckient eth0
when i restart the network-manager, it disconnect me from the internet.
what can be the problem?

i'm sorry about my mistakes in english.

Well what seems to be the issue with your connectivity when the NM is running? DNS? Ifconfig?

Diagnose the problem(hone in on the exact issue) while ignoring the cause(network managr), a then you'll know where to look with the NetworkManager to fix it.

Many times, the NetworkManager sets up your card, but leaves the check box that says "start at boot" (paaphrasing: not in front of a computer at the moment). So look there, first.

This sounds like network manager is configured differently than the rest of your system. Perhaps you are using two seperate 'network managers' that are conflicting in configuration?

What OS are you using? Have you visited your OS forum/faqs to see if the problem has happened to anyone else? You can generally find forums, IRC channels, mailing lists, bug lists on your distro's web site that you can search through to find more information on typical issues. Perhaps it was a botched update that went out - you should always check your distro site first.

Arch is famous for this. People will come out of the woodwork having an issue after updating, wondering what happened, when a quick visit to the homepage would explain everything.

Well, shaygen, reboot this computer. When you notice that the internet is unreachable, troubleshoot it:

If you type 'ip addr show', do you see a properly-configured interface? Is the IP address correct for your network? If the adapter appears to be configured correctly, can you ping the gateway? If no, then look at the routing table (ip route show). If yes, can you ping google.com? If no, then what message does ping return? Is /etc/hosts set up correctly?

Etc. Start at your affected computer, and work ever closer to the internet to determine where fault lay. You're looking for a problem with NetworkManager, and while NM has all kinds of problems, maybe it's just a setting in NM for the given adapter. I don't know Ubuntu at all, but in RHEL 6.x (RHEL 6.5 more accurately), there is an option in the adapter config that says 'Connect Automatically'. When you install from scratch and configure the IFs, this option is *never* selected by default. So you poke around for the problem, and finally realize that the adapter isn't connecting because' it's not being told to.

So look for an option like that.

So get us more detail on exactly what is broken, and we can direct you better.

Do you mean that in your Graphical Network Manager, you can see the networks, but you cannot connect to them using the GUI? Do you have any output in /var/log/messages?

Code:
grep -i networkmanager /var/log/messages

Well, you didn't do as I ask, so I can only give you my opinion after looking at a log file...

If AppArmor is like SELinux, then this may be the issue:

~~~
May 20 23:40:08 genizi dhclient: execve (/usr/lib/NetworkManager/nm-dhcp-client.action, ...): Permission denied
May 20 23:40:08 genizi kernel: [28578.129401] type=1400 audit(1400618408.732:48): apparmor="DENIED" operation="exec" parent=7333 profile="/sbin/dhclient" name="/home/usr/lib/NetworkManager/nm-dhcp-client.action" pid=7334 comm="dhclient" requested_mask="x" denied_mask="x" fsuid=0 ouid=0
May 20 23:40:08 genizi dhclient: execve (/usr/lib/NetworkManager/nm-dhcp-client.action, ...): Permission denied
May 20 23:40:08 genizi kernel: [28578.167544] type=1400 audit(1400618408.772:49): apparmor="DENIED" operation="exec" parent=7333 profile="/sbin/dhclient" name="/home/usr/lib/NetworkManager/nm-dhcp-client.action" pid=7335 comm="dhclient" requested_mask="x" denied_mask="x" fsuid=0 ouid=0
May 20 23:40:29 genizi NetworkManager[7323]: <info> (wlan2): IP6 addrconf timed out or failed.
~~~

It looks like the network sets itself up just fine, but when it domes to DHCP negotiation, you get these Permission Denied messages, and then you get the cascading timeouts. If I'm not mis-reading the log file, that is.

Try disabling AppArmor, or correcting the access control for DHCP.

Alternately, you can set a static IP and see if the issue goes away. THen you would know it was a DHCP issue.

thank you.
I googled my logs and found this - http://ubuntuforums.org/archive/inde...t-1496700.html
This is what I did:
Code:
sudo nano /etc/apparmor.d/tunables/alias
alias /usr/ -> /home/usr/,
 sudo service apparmor reload
