problems with NetGear FA-311
 
:newbie:

i have installed the NetGear FA-311 in my computer and setup the network settings as folling:

IP: 1.2.3.4
Gateway: 4.3.2.1

when I ping the gateway i got one reply but no more.

in /var/log/messages:

kernel: eth0: something wicked happened! 18000.

i have vanilla kernel 2.4.7 with mosix 1.1.0 (see on MOSIX offical homepage for further details

can someone help me?

There seem to be issues with the natsemi.o module (used with the FA-311) and certain kenel versions, among other things. Do a Google search using the keyphrase "something wicked happened! 18000" for more info.

well, it was very easy: just download and compile a newer version (e.g. 2.4.13)
