Problems with my network
hi
Im new to linux , Im trying to connect to my network, and my wireless card seems to be working and everything, But i just cant connect to it. when i tried to configure the IPsec, the first time i got invalid argument, then after trying for a few hours i got network unreachable.....and i dont really know what to do...this is my first time with linux....can anyone help me?

try to find How to network.
at this moment, type in a console as root
#ifconfig -a
and see if you have an IP, a gateway etc.
if not, type in the same console :
ifconfig YOUR_DEVICE YOURIP(or DHCP) YOUR_NETMASK up.
after, still in the same console as root type:
# route
and you will see if you can see your AP and your network.
if not, type in the console
route add default gw IP_YOUR_AP
route add IP_YOUR_AP gw YOUR_IP.

When I type
#ifconfig -a
it says command not found....
....When i hit activate in Network configuration, i got the following message
Determining IP information for wlan0...ping:icmp open Permission denied
ping:icmp open socket: Permission denied filed...
ps. by the way...im using Fedora 4 core

connect as root, and perform the precedent command.
