problems installing hostap driver 0.4.7 on FC4

Well I'm trying to install the hostap driver 0.4.7 for my wireless PCMCIA card (a demarc) which has a prism 2.5 chipset. After hours I finally figured out how to point the Makefile to my kernel (at least I think because that error message went away) but then I get a message saying something to the effect of " could not make "modules" no rule or target exists.... or something like that, I tried for hours to figure out something but I'm at a wall, its also really early in the morning so it could be that I'm tired, any help would be greatly appreciated.
