Problems connecting to the net with RTL8139

I got a Realtek RTL8139 and a ADSL modem named 'Aztech ADSL2+ ETHERNET BRIDGE ROUTER DSL600E', as I've noticed there are modules for this net adapter in the kernel 2.6.20.1 (the one I got right now) and I just don't know how to configure it out working with the modem. I just want to connect to the internet and surf.. has anyone got the same hardware and already connected?

isn't it basically a matter of doing a "modprobe 8139too" and then making sure your box is configured to use DHCP??

I tried "modprobe 8139too" and it showed me this error:
"FATAL: Error Inserting 8139too (/lib/modules/2.60.20.1/kernel/drivers/net/8139too.ko): Invalid Module Format"

are you positive that your module was built by the same GCC version as was used for building the kernel?? and are you sure the module is intended for the specific kernel version you have?? check with a:
Code:
modinfo 8139too
BTW: just a heads-up that 2.6.20.2 has been out for a while and fixed a ton of bugs (including security vulnerabilities)...
