Look at this: http://puppylinux.org/main/Overview%...%20Started.htmif wicd is installed, there should be an icon anywhere in the gui. On my system (kde) on the right hand side near the bottom. There you may click (righthand button) and look what it says.
There are also configurationfiles in the /etc directory, please read the manpage
Code:

man wicd

I tried to install puppylinux, but during installation it gives me the following error:

Code:

performing a 'switch root' to the layered filesystem..Kernel panic -root syncin
g: attempted to kill init!

while for wicd..it appears in application--> internet, but when I click to open it, nothing happends..

Hi, when googling for "performing a 'switch root' to the layered filesystem" it seems to be a common problem with Puppy. I'd recommend to post this issue in a Puppy-forum or search in those forums respectively.
