problem with printing at ports through samba

Hello all.
I have a problem with printing through samba.
I have a Red Hat 7.2 system and had configured my network printers and a local LPT1 printer to be used through samba over the network. It was working fine and could use them over the LAN till one day my linux system hanged and had to reboot it forcefully. After that whenever I try to print over the network through windows PCs, though I am able to see them in network neighbourhood but an error message is displayed saying "problem printing to the port"...though I am able to print from the console.
Can anybody help.
Thanks to all in advance.

Restart Samba and CUPS or whatever you're using for printing

Had tried restarting samba several times. Infact have reconfigured samba too but could not find anything fruitful.

Elaborate on printing from cosole. Are you using ssh? How are you logged from console?

Printing from console is normal as it was earlier. I am using Gnome xterm. logged in is also no problem. all the users have the access to the printer and any user can print using lp command. it is also printing from different applications as netscape, open office etc from console.
From windows PCs too, the printer is shown online...I hope it means it is able to connect to the printer but while giving the print command it says "error writing to printer" - "problem printing to port".
