problem with openssh connections from "internet" on gentoo system
Hi all,
I have an issue with openssh OpenSSH 4.7 (protocol 2.0). The Server should listen on 2 ports on is 22 the other is e.g. 1234. Only the connection to 1234 is possible from outside. If I try to connect to 22 it is not possible.
The firewall is set to allow both connections. I also disabled IPV6 in the kernel and recompiled ssh afterwards.
sshd is running as a daemon.
when I start sshd from the console with -d. It is not recognising the connection.
Disabling the firewall (iptables) did not help. Again on port 1234 it is possible to connect on 22 it is not.
Any idea?
Thanks and best regards Nidsche
Edit:
One additional remark, I changed my firewall settings to blovk port 22 and can imediatly Log messages for the connection. Therefore the port is not blocked by the provider.
