problem with mrtg graph

hi all,

i've a linux web server with RedHat Linux 8.0 which shows bandwidth consumption of my clients. everything works fine, but for a moment the bandwidth consumption shows very high. look at this graph,

uneven graph

its showing near about 1.3 Mb bandwidth consumption where there is no way to get this amount of data at that period.

thanks in advance

That could be the result of broadcast from any Pc of your lan. It does happen when a PC usually effected by some sort of virus and adwares behave this way and causing MRTG to plot such figures. Check all your LAN pcs and run upgrades and Antivirus as well.

hi,
thanx for ur reply !
this is the graph of only one ip and the ip is used in another linux server and i know that linux server is properly firewalled.
is broadcasting from other computers which is not assoiciated with my mrtg affecting the graph ??
another thing, at the same time some other IPs mrtg is showing ok .
is there any way to tell the cfg file not show more then a certain bandwidth ? if its possible then i can resolve the problem in my mrtg server.
