Problem with domainname
Hi!
I set up a new RH 9.0 box and I'm meeting a strange problem:
When I reboot, the box forgets its domainname and can't start ypbind. When I log in as root (my account ist distributed by NIS and so not available), set the domainname via "domainname <domain>" an start ypbind, everything is fine.
But why does it always forget the domainname? Did I miss any entry?
Greetings, rot

Change it in:
/etc/sysconfig/network

as said above, you can check /etc/sysconfig/network or edit the /etc/rc.local file and add the command
domainname YOUR_DOMAIN

Hi!
My /etc/sysconfig/network contains
==
NETWORKING=yes
HOSTNAME=aldea.intern.net
DOMAINNAME=caxopen
GATEWAY=192.168.1.254
==
This should be ok, but ist still doesn't work.
My /etc/yp.conf contains the following line:
==
domain caxopen server 192.168.1.4
==
So this entry ist also correct. But evertime I reboot the machine, "domainname" tells me "(none)"...
Any other ideas?

Try changing DOMAINNAME in /etc/sysconfig/network
to NISDOMAINNAME
or NISDOMAIN
can remember which when exactly
