problem with courierpassd on FC4

I've been following the steps to install qmail over at qmailrocks.org and I was doing great up to part 14. I was having a dependency problem with libcrypto.so.4. so, i tried a couple of things and ended up with sendmail being reinstalled. so i removed it (via yum) and thought it was all good. unforunately, courierpassd wouldn't run. so, I tried to reinstall it with no luck. Finally, I went back to step 9 and repeated all the step back through part 12 with still no luck. everything is working except for courierpassd. when I do an nmap I get the following:

PORT STATE SERVICE
22/tcp open ssh
25/tcp open smtp
53/tcp open domain
80/tcp open http
110/tcp open pop3
111/tcp open rpcbind
143/tcp open imap
443/tcp open https
631/tcp open ipp
953/tcp open rndc
993/tcp open imaps
3306/tcp open mysql
5432/tcp open postgres
10000/tcp open snet-sensor-mgmt

webmail and imap still works, I'm still able to send/receive mail with no problems. But, obviously, I can't change passwords via squirrelmail. So, I'm a bit sad. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

LOL, ok, this is what you get when you work over 12 hours on a laptop trying to get email working. within 5 minutes i had this fixed.

First, you do HAVE to put the "{" on line two on /etc/xinetd.d/courierpassd. apparently, that's not an option.

Second, it helps if you put the right port # also. I had retyped courierpassd by hand yesterday evening and typo'd 106 as 160. ooops.

For some reason, my eyes were working better this morning after some sleep and as i tail'd /var/log/messages i saw the errors. i kept missing them yesterday. don't know why. probably just zoning.

Either way, courierpassd is working now. woohoo!

Now, if I can just get libcrypto.so.4 on my system i'll be doing good.
