Hi,
I just setup a Redhat 9 for home network.

Everything is fine, before I plug in the modem into computer.

but I plug in the cable modem (rogers), and error msg always pop up while I login. The msg said linux cannot find the addr "CM000a00cc1aa62-CM000a73a0bbf2" and ask me to enter that into "hosts" file.

If I login in text mode, the prompt will be [root@CM000a00cc1aa62-CM000a73a0bbf2] instead of "localhosts".

The worse is that I cannot start "httpd".

But if I unplug the modem, everythign back to normal again.

May I know what cause the problem? Anyway to solve it?
