Problem using Samba SWAT on Xubuntu 6.06

I recently installed Xubuntu on an old computer I had lying around so that I could turn it into a Samba server for maintaining common files that I wanted accessible to all my computers. I ran apt-get install samba samba-common swat to grab all the necessary files. Everything seemed to install correctly, but whenever I try to point Firefox to 127.0.0.1:901 to use SWAT to configure the smb.conf file, I get the error "Unable to connect: Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at 127.0.0.1:901". Can anyone help me figure out why this is happening?

To get swat working on ubuntu you must do the following steps:

1) In /etc/inetd.conf remove the "#<off>#" on the swat line so it looks like this:
swat stream tcp nowait.400 root /usr/sbin/tcpd /usr/sbin/swat

2) Install the inetd and swat packages 'sudo apt-get install inetd swat'

3) To use swat you will need your root password. If you don't know it (ubuntu sets one at install time and doesn't tell you what it is) then change it: 'sudo passwd'

Ok, I think the problem was that I didn't have inetd installed properly; it's working now. Many thanks.
