Problem Running Win32 Applications Through A Samba Network
I'm running SuSE Linux 10.0 as kind-of a fileserver/samba server with all my windows programs on it. I'm trying to run a program from a windows XP machine through a network, but it says it's not a valid Win32 application. I believe it may have something to do with the fact that the linux machine is not an NTFS partition, but if anyone else has a better idea, or what not, please let me know. Thanx in advance.
The permissions are set so everyone can view and modify files. I tend to think it's not a problem of acessing it but more of a problem of cross communication between SuSE and XP. Thanx for your help though.
Hi,
I mean apart from read(view), write(modify) check whether the executable permission is set. I had seen similar problem becoz the chmod +x was not set on the Windows exe files.
Just for curiosity do you have Anti-virus program like ClamAV integrated with Samba? If so then Clamav does block the exe file till it finishes scanning them. Just a guess.
