problem running azureus on LAN behind firewall

hi fellas ...

i am behind a firewall at the university ....
i use a proxy tunnelling software for downloads not allowed thru normal proxy ...

so is the a way to use p2p soft such as azureus on such a LAN..
i tried to configure azureus ..

one place where i get stuck is when is asks for
"tcp incoming listening port .."

i tried netstat and saw which ports were currently running ..

obviously some prog on my pc was using that port and hence was visible in netstat ...
so when i tried to give the same port no's in azureus NAT test it gave me an error waying this ports were already in use ..

very fine ..

now my qtn is which are the ports that can use to succeed the NAT test and get my azureus working fine ...

another qtn is whether the we have to configure the port forwarding on the router which on hostel LAN ..
cant it be sent using the same http port router uses ..
the p2p obviously are not allowed within normal proxy ...

is there any advantage of the proxy tunelling solution for proper funtioning of azureus ?

plz hlp ..

azureus is a BitTorrent client, right?? then that would probably be TCP ports 6881-6999...

not sure what to tell you about the firewall/router restriction - i mean, if you aren't the admin for it then you're pretty much out of luck... if you have a box somewhere else you could try doing a VPN, perhaps with something like this: http://www.openvpn.net - you'll need to have the BT ports configured properly on the other machine of course... that said, i'm not sure we could go into too much detail about this as providing tech support to someone trying to bypass an organization's security is not what this forum is about...
