Problem Recognising NIC

I'm having a hell of a time trying to configure the NIC and DSL services. (I come from the world of clicking on the "next" button)

I have read a lot of docs/faqs that other people have posted with no avail.

I have successfully installed Redhat Linux 7.3... and the NIC is a 3Com 3C905 (which is their standard nic)

What am I doing wrong? or is there an easier way to get the NIC to be recognised?

Thanks,
Simon

Where do you have problem?
To see if your NIC is visible in the system use
cat /proc/pci
and look if you can see your NIC mentioned there.
Then you need to run a driver for it
insmod modulename
Get the driver from 3com site. (I'm using Lynx now, so I can't copy the link for you).

my mistake

Sorry, I have a 3cr990-tx-97 card. I had wrote it down incorrectly.

I'll try the drivers on the 3com site. If they do not work (3com does not support linux yet but they have a number of drivers that I can try)...

Thanks,
Simon
