Hi all,

Have been trying to set up sendmail for my server, but have not been able to get to far as yet.

I cannot seem to process the sendmail.mc file to produce the sendmail.cf file? I have followed the instructions in the radhat 9 bible, but I get an error:

# m4 /etc/mail/sendmail.mc > /etc/mail/sendmail.cf

/etc/mail/sendmail.mc:10: m4: Cannot open /usr/share/sendmail-cf/m4/cf.m4: No su
ch file or directory

indeed there is no directory called /sendmail-cf in /usr/share

when I do 'rpm -qa | grep m4' I get a result, so m4 is there.

One thing I do notice when I run the command:
# m4 /etc/mail/sendmail.mc > /etc/mail/sendmail.cf

my sendmail.cf gets wiped clear, then when I try and restart sendmail I get an error message something about the que not being defined, which didnt happen before I tried to process the sendmail.mc file.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Make sure you have "sendmail-cf" installed then try again.
