problem in configuring squirrel mail (changing password)- - -need your help!!


hello everyone...
i have encountered a problem,i have configuered squirrelmail..
by directly starting service httpd and dovecot service..
then i added some users..and after that using a browser directly i opened http://localhost/webmail
its like i am able to login...
i can send mails to other users and even on internet..!!
but there is no provison to change the password of existing user!!
i want to use it for the organization and want to give every member a mail account of my organization!!!
i even downloaded a plugin for this...
i installed that....
its like when i go to options it asks for change of password
type your old password:
enter new:
retype new:

but even after all that it doesnt accepts that!!!
an error occurs that connection refused!!
i just want that my users gets an option to change the password...

i am new to linux world!!
i need your support..
kindly help me..
do reply with your thoughts!!

You probably either have the wrong plugin, or you haven't followed all the instructions in the README / INSTALL files that came within the plugin directory.

If you're using this plugin (as you should, if didn't configure a different authentication mechanism and are using the default of system users) you need to follow the instructions and install the poppassd service.

hi frds

i am RHEL5 for mail server..i am using squirrelmail 1-4.8-x
i want to change user password from browser..so that i installed poppassd v1.6,but it is not working ..and how to open or assaign manually to 106 por t for poppasssd...reply anyone as soon as possible
