Printing to a Dlink print server??
I have a HP 1200 series laserjet printer networked with a DLINK print server that provides an IP address for networks workstations to print to. How can I configure my Linux RedHat 9 to print to such an IP address? The only options I have when configuring a networked printer is "Locally Conected" "CUPS" "UNIX" "Windows" "Novell" and "Jetdirect"
Because my network is Windows 2000 Active directory, I would assume using the "Windows (SMB)" selection, however this selection suggests a SAMBA server somewhere, right? I am a Microsoft guy, and I am just trying to figure out how RedHat 9 can print to an IP address. In Microsoft, you configure a "Local Port" and make the local port an IP address, and Vuala!
Any suggestions?
