Printing from Linux to Windows
I have a new Fedora 7 box networked with three XP machines via router. One of the XP machines has a HP Deskjet attached to it--and this is the printer we all use.
I can setup the printer, make it do the Deskjet "I'm-about-to-start" noise, then . . . nothing. In fact, the XP box gets about 64 bytes of the 4.3M Cups test page, then clogs up the XPs print que. I have to do a "net stop spooler" to get it cleared out. So, it seems a problem on XP sides . . . in fact, CUPS reports nothing unusual: the job is processed sent and logged in as complete. But still, if someone has an idea . . . I'd appreciate a tip. Ken |
More on the same
It does the same thing with a PCLinuxOS box hooked up to it.
Other Windozz computers, however, aren't having that problem . . . Is it the XP box? or is Cups sending something that XP can't handle? Help! |
too XP oriented huh?
