Print server Using SuSE 9.2?
 

Hello to everybody, hope you are doing good.
I want to install a print server using SuSE 9.2, but since i'm kind of new to linux i don´t quite know how to start or even worse what are the steps to creating a good print server. can you please give me a reference or how to start and what do i need to configure?

Thanks Peacedog, I've got my network printer working, but know my problem is the following:

I need the make a print server, but need to take control of the print jobs of my clients. I will decide what print jobs will pass to the printer and which to decline. Do you have any idea how to do this?

What are your conditions for the print jobs? Color, print size, etc?

No restrictions for the user, just to be able to deny or accept print jobs from the user!! in other words i need to see the queu that contains all the print jobs an permit me to erase a print job.

Couldn't you just have security settings on each printer?

It would be way to difficult to watch a queue. I'd suggest looking into setting permission on each printer.

OK, I'm kind of dumm for this, can you please explain how i can do this?

OK, I HAVE 10 CLIENTS WHO HAVE TO SHARE ONE PRINTER THAT IS ATTACHED TO A SuSE LINUX PROXY/SERVER, WHICH I ALSO WANT IT TO BE A PRINT SERVER. I WANT TO BE ABLE TO CONTROL THE PRINTING QUEUE OF THIS PRINT SERVER.

IS THIS WHAT YOU WHERE ASKING ME?
