Question PPTP configuration via nm-applet

hi
in fedora 14,13 when I click on network (Ethernet) icon that i think it's nm-applet there is a vpn sub-menu. I'm using it for creating a PPTP connection, all i have is user-name, gateway and a password.

it works really good, but I have 2 major problem, my computer is old and I want to use openbox, how I can access to this menu?
on the other computer I'm using Debian 5 and centos 5.5, in centos there is not a vpn menu at all! and in Debian there is a vpn sub menu but there is not pptp connection!!
there is cisco!

what should I do? in fact both problems are same I think!

thanks.
Ashkan
