Then see if it can come up. /etc/init.d/net.eth0 start should work. ifconfig to be sure.
It was removed from the manual. I'm not sure why though. That forcedeath is a reverse engineered driver for them, since nvidia's was having problems and wouldn't open up.

You will need that in your kernel for when you boot the first time too. It is under device drivers, networking, 10/100, then look "Reverse Engineered nForce Ethernet support (EXPERIMENTAL)". If you use 2.6 kernel.
