Question pppoe broadband


Hi,

I'm new user of Linux; I have used windows only two days back. Now I have installed fedora 6 and windows Xp as dual boot. I have using pppoe broadband while windows using but now I didnít know that how to configure the pppoe broadband in fedora6.

Can any one help me out this problem?

Wink pppoe broadband

Hi,

Thanks for reply

Iím Chennai, India and my service provider is VSNL. I have connected my pc to ADSL router via NIC (eth). The ADSL router has been configured as Eth Bridge.

ADSL Router Make: Billion
Model: BIPAC 5200S

I would suggest that you configure the ADSL modem to do the PPPoE authentication. That way, the modem looks after maintaining the connection. Your Linux box will just get an IP address from the router, and you can use the internet with no further effort.

I am also from India (Surat City, Gujarat) and I have also VSNL connecion. I have Ubuntu 7.04 on my PC. I also cannot connect to internet.

Can you give us more info please?

In what way can you not connect? Do you get Sync, do you get Auth.
How are you trying to connect?
If you have Windows, can you connect on that?
What sort of modem / router do you have? How is it connected to your PC? (USB or Ethernet).
How is your modem configured? Bridge Mode or Normal?
