pppd - use fixed interface?


when calling pppd directly ( pppd /dev/ttyS0 nodetach ) is there a way to force it to use a fixed interface, ppp2, or whatever I need at the time? the pppd man page only mentions 'linkname' which doesn't seem to work for me, and google hasn't found much either...
