ppp0 and startup script

The scenerio:

i am running Red Hat 9.0

i connect to the internet with a dial up 56k modem

i created the connection settings with kpppd but got rid of the GUI

now i connect by typing ifup ppp0

i want to make a script run automatically as soon as i have sucessfully connected to the internet.

I have no idea how to do this, i have read things about making if-up.local the script and putting it somewhere but im not sure where or if that is even right
Can anyone tell me where i should reference the script so it executes after a login?

Thanks in Advance :-)

Do you have a script /etc/ppp/ip-up? (And also ip-down, which is just a symlink to ip-up?)
I used to start and stop squid from that script.
Just have a look at that script - it is easy to read if you have some bash knowledge - and you will see where to insert the command calling your script.

similar to what J_Szucs says, I know RedHat has that file and also /etc/ppp/ip-up.local, this is the file they recommend you add required scripts to run once the pppd is running.
