Two computers, each with a (real) modem:
external USR 56K v.92 (bought today)
internal SharkMM Leopard 56K v.90
Running Mandrake + 2.4.16
I bought the USR because I thought the Leopard modem was bum, but...
Both modems work fine in Windows.
Both modems
almost work fine in Linux...
# wget
http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kern...2.4.17.tar.bz2
1) Data transfers smoothly to ~80KB
2) Pause...
3) Data bursts
4) Data transfers smoothly to ~150KB
5) Connection (data) terminates.
Sure, I can do "wget -c", but that's not the point: the data connection
never terminates in windows.
I disabled bsd_deflate/ppp_compress, didn't change the results. This is driving me and my dad
bonkers. Identical results on both machine/modems. What gives??? Help is
greatly appreciated!!
